# The Book

David Goggins is a man who can run on broken legs. This will do a better job of telling you who this man is. What I will talk about is what this book is, and its NOT a self-help book.

I know by the looks of the cover, it seems like another master your mind kind of bullshit, but its not. The primary reason for that is because its a story book, his own story. And you can learn a lot about a man from the way he describes his worst moments.

But yes, in some sense this book does have obvious key takeaways:

  1. You are much stronger than you think. David believes you only operate at 40% of your capacity because you give up from pain, exhuastion, pressure or whatever else that tells you that you cannot go on. Beat that.

  2. Being uncommon isn’t enough, you can strive to be the uncommon among uncommons! Its a tough world, and a lonely world, but you have one life, why not live it large.

  3. Build trust in yourself using your past achievements. Don’t drown in them, don’t drool about them, but use them. Use them to achieve even more. The road, never, ends.

  4. You are responsible for your life. Only you are. Own your mistakes, own your failures. Only when you realize that you alone can fix your life, will you actually go ahead and try.

Again, don’t confuse this for self-help. If you can ignore the times he asks you to make instagram posts (yeah its kinda an obsession of his I guess) with hashtags etc. then this is a beautiful story with a clear message.
